About Robert Soroka
Robert Soroka is a 19-year-old champion driver and rising motorsports star who will be competing in elite-level karting events in 2021. Simultaneously he’ll also be testing a variety of sportscars including, but not limited to, the BMW M2 CS and Porsche GT3 Cup car in preparation for a transition into a full 2022 sportscar racing program.
Robert got his start in motorsports later than most racing prodigies, but that hasn’t stopped him from making an impact on the track. In 2015, he began his career as a 13-year-old. Since his inaugural start, Robert’s natural talent has given him the ability to accelerate his career through some of the highest karting ranks in North America.
Soroka’s innate ability to learn quickly continued to prove invaluable as he entered his breakout season in 2018. Dominating many national events in both Canada and the United States, while clinching several provincial and national championships in the ultra-competitive ROK Sr. division. This breakout year caught the eye of renowned Formula 4 team Jay Howard Driver Development (JHDD), which resulted in his signing on for the 2019 F4 US Championship with the team.
Robert’s 2019 season in F4 with JHDD showed that he can adapt to compete in any series. Plans to advance his motorsports career in 2020 in the Porsche GT3 Challenge Canada were dashed as the world events of 2020 saw the series cancelled in Canada. Even though plans changed, Robert adapted quickly and joined a premier karting team, Kevin Glover Racing (KGR) in the familiar ROK Sr. division.
His 2020 karting season was one for the record books, winning countless events and overcoming adversity on numerous occasions for podium finishes. This all culminated in being awarded an overall championship finish of 3rd Motomaster Ron Fellows Karting Championship, KartStars Vice-Champion, and Canadian Open Champion. The Candian Open Champion came with a ticket to represent Canada at the prestigious Rotax Max Challenge Grand Finals being held in Portugal, January 2021. The year’s accomplishments also earned him a test with NASCAR Pinty’s team New Speed Motorsports.
As we move into 2021, Robert has his focus on the upcoming Rotax Max Challenge Grand Finals in Portugal, a full karting program and a test program preparing him for a 2022 sportscar racing debut.
