Robert Soroka put on a spectacular performance taking a dominating win in the Rotax Sr. division and earning a ticket to the Rotax Max Grand Finals.

The Canadian Open Championship was one of the most prestigious races in Canada in 2020. It was the event that would crown Rotax Champions in Canada and thus award them with tickets to the Rotax Max Grand Finals in Portugal taking place in January 2021.

After missing the mark in qualifying the team hit the setup for the prefinal. Starting in P9, Robert was able to carve his way through the field to P2 in three laps and eventually pulled off a spectacular pass for the prefinal win.

The final was pure dominance with challengers he was able to cruise to a comfortable victory winning by a 2+ second margin.

“In the prefinal, I was able to make a move in the fastest corner of the track, at over 120 kph that put me into P1 and never looked back. In the final, I just kept my head down, and the kart just got faster and faster throughout the race, which allowed me to cruise to victory. I’m really looking forward to representing Canada at the Grand Finals in Portugal come January.”
